Flying with autism
How it started.
In my daily work at the Customer Care Department of KLM, I regularly came across stories of families who flew with a child with autism. The problems they encountered were sometimes distressing. As a father of a daughter with autism, these stories really appealed to me. I decided to do something about this.
Actions rather than words.
In November 2016, I decided to set up a project to raise awareness about the subject with both airlines and parents who had the same problem.
I decided to start a community page on Facebook to see if there was a need for more publicity. Within a short time the page had more than 3500 followers and the number is still growing.
